In 2022 the volume of foreign trade in goods with Uruguay amounted to $1,86 million and decreased by 65,4% comparing to 2021. The exports composed $0,39 million (‑87,2%), imports – $1,46 million (-35,9%). The balance of foreign trade in goods was negative for Ukraine – $1,07 million.
The structure of the Ukraine's exports to Uruguay was dominated by the following groups of goods: boilers, machines (53,2%); furniture (12,4%), mineral fuels, oil and its distillation products (10,3%), electric machines (10,0%), leather products (4,1%), plastics and polymer materials (4,0%).
The imports of goods from Uruguay consisted mainly of pharmaceutical products (27,1%), fish and crustaceans (25,4%), skins (16,4%), wood pulp (14,8%), as well as edible fruits and nuts (11,6%).
During January-October 2023, the volume of bilateral trade in goods amounted to $4,9 million and increased by 3,4 times. Exports amounted to $232.4 thousand and decreased by 25,4%, imports - $4.6 million and increased by 4,1 times. The balance of trade in goods was negative for Ukraine and amounted to $4,4 million.
According to the National Bank of Ukraine, there has been no FDI stock between the countries at the end of the period.
