In 2022 the foreign trade in goods of Ukraine with the Argentine Republic amounted to $56,5 million (-43,0%). Exports came to $5,1 million (-85,2) and imports composed $51,4 million (-20,4%). The balance was negative for Ukraine – $46,4 million.
In 2022 the main export positions of Ukraine were: ferrous metals (38,0%); plastics, polymer materials (29,6%); ores, slag and ash (8,3%); boilers, machines (7,4%); electric machines (6,4%); mineral fuels, oil and products of its distillation (4,1%) and ferrous metal products (3,7%).
In Ukraine's import positions prevailed: fish and crustaceans (27,3%); seeds and fruits of oil plants (18,2%); edible fruits and nuts (16,4%); boilers, machines (15,5%), pharmaceutical products (6,3%).
During January – October 2023, the volume of bilateral trade in goods amounted to $49,4 million (increased by 4,8%) comparing to the same period of 2022. The exports composed $2,1 million (-52,8%) and imports – $47,3 million (+10,9%). The balance remained negative for Ukraine – $45,2 million.
Starting from 2018, data on the FDI volume from Argentina into the economy of Ukraine are not published in compliance with the requirements of the Law of Ukraine "On State Statistics" regarding the confidentiality of statistical information. According to the National Bank of Ukraine, there have been no direct investments registered from Ukraine into the Argentine economy by the end of the period.
